Our Mission

Health Advantage Cares Foundation's mission is to empower and uplift our community by way of educational opportunities, social and financial resources, and volunteer work. We are committed to providing educational opportunities through scholarships, with a particular focus but not limited to, potential healthcare and social welfare employees and to encourage positive community interactions through volunteering and sponsoring of community events.

Health Advantage Cares Foundation supports:

• Currently employed nurses wishing to further their education with a Nurses Scholarship Program. 
• Organizations within the categories listed below, that are serving the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Request a Grant/Donation  

Grant/Donation request applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be funded four times per year. Please review the funding cycles below for specific dates. 

2024 Grant/Donation Funding Cycle

Grant/Donation Requirements:

• Funding requests must align with the Foundation's mission
• Organization must be based within the Great Lakes Bay Region
• Organization must be in good financial standing.
• Organization is non-discriminatory for any reason, including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation and/or national origin.

At this time, we are unable to support the following: 

• Programs, projects or events that benefit specific individuals
• Religious organizations, unless the program is a secular community outreach program benefiting the community at large (e.g., homeless shelter, food bank)
• Political organizations, campaigns or candidates
• Parent/Teacher Associations and Organizations
• Fraternal Organizations
• Capital Campaign

The Health Advantage Cares Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation helping build a better future through strategic charitable giving and community partnerships. Founded by Health Advantage Federal Credit Union in 2023, the Foundation receives ongoing support from the Credit Union, as well as donors and members from the communities which it supports.
